NeuraspaceDEF at a Glance

NeuraspaceDEF helps Europe monitor and protect its satellites in real time. It provides automated collision avoidance and satellite control to keep operations running smoothly. Built on the proven NeuraspaceOS, it gives defence and allied teams faster, more reliable information to make critical decisions.

Executive Summary

NeuraspaceDEF is Europe’s platform for autonomous, secure, and safe space operations. To counter rising orbital threats and linked to that on the ground, it provides real-time monitoring, collision avoidance, and satellite control. Serving defence and NATO allies, it also ensures sovereignty and operational continuity, and faster decision-making.

Through our systems, Neuraspace enables national technological sovereignty and European strategic autonomy. By providing verifiable, physics-based data on orbital behaviour, these systems reduce the risk of miscalculation and escalation. They also enable cooperative information-sharing, create shared situational awareness, and support confidence-building measures.

NeuraspaceDEF combines innovation and operational excellence to strengthen resilience, civil protection, and peacekeeping for a safer future. NeuraspaceDEF runs on our mission proven operating system NeuraspaceOS, already being used for monitoring, analysis, collision avoidance, manoeuvre planning and LEO constellation management by customers such as Spire Global, Kongsberg NanoAvionics, and GomSpace.

Client Value & ROI

  • Moving from passive monitoring to active and autonomous control to:
    • maintain security and constellation coordination under threat
    • respond to orbital threats in real time, even under cyber or kinetic attack
    • operate a sovereign and resilient capability that reduces reliance on commercial systems (e.g., Starlink), as highlighted during recent conflicts
  • Secure and reliable handovers of military communications during high-tempo operations
  • Detecting, predicting, and simulating orbital behaviour; be it routine, negligent, or deliberately hostile
  • Timely and efficient multi-orbit resource orchestration for C2/ISR

NeuraspaceDEF capabilities give defence and governmental users a real advantage in space and on Earth. They provide 100x times faster decision-making, 20 percent more planning time, and 80 percent more assets to be managed with the same human resources.

Defence Situation: Threats & Challenges

A globally rising threat level makes secure space operations ever more critical. Many countries and even NATO recognise space as a critical operational domain for defence and essential for communications, navigation, and intelligence. The pace of geopolitical and technological changes also demands greater urgency to protect their assets. As a result, more and more countries are seeking to build sovereign capabilities in space surveillance and domain awareness to get better intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) data.

At the same time, all space actors (commercial, academic, governmental and defence) are facing issues around orbital congestion and space debris, the need for improved object identification and analysis, automated collision avoidance, manoeuvre suggestions and execution. They are under greater pressure than ever to protect their spacecraft, especially when considering  that their space assets are sometimes linked to critical infrastructure on Earth.

Satellites also need to be protected from jamming and spoofing of communications and navigation, cyberattacks on satellites and control stations, collisions with space debris, anti-satellite weapons (ASAT), orbital espionage, and potentially intrusive orbital technologies.

All of these challenges require much greater satellite and system autonomy. In fact, the sheer amount of data from different sensor systems and the required speedy analysis and reaction time alone calls for more autonomous and AI-based operations.

That is why we developed our new dual-use platform “NeuraspaceDEF”. Aimed at the defence and dual-use sector, it is interoperable with the NATO ecosystem and that of European allies. The system runs on our mission proven operating system NeuraspaceOS and addresses both “congestion” and “contestation”.

NeuraspaceDEF:  Capabilities & Solutions

NeuraspaceDEF enhances military Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and Space Command & Control (Space C2). Its SatAIS (Automatic Identification System) is capable of broadcasting encrypted manoeuvre intent and status across NATO and allied assets. It enables coalition C2, autonomous tactics, and interoperability even in denied or congested environments.

NeuraspaceDEF is also strongly supported by a network of established institutional and industrial partnerships such as the Portuguese Air Force (FAP), the Brazilian Air Force, and the European EMISSARY Project.

NeuraspaceDEF provides defence and command authorities with reliable data-driven operations, with minimal latency and high resilience. This is achieved by a combination of providing transparent and fully explained artificial intelligence and using existing sovereign (either belonging to the country or NATO allies) sensors and secure space communications.

In highly-contested theatres, such as the Baltic or Black Sea, where ISR assets are vulnerable to jamming, spoofing, and kinetic threats, real-time decision superiority and resilient autonomy are vital. For this, NeuraspaceDEF ensures continuous ISR coverage to preserve NATO’s freedom of manoeuvre and transparency of manoeuvre intent, mitigates escalation risk, and enhances coalition trust, even under cyber and kinetic duress.

At an operational level NeuraspaceDEF provides:

  • Operational continuity of satellites without ground contact
  • Autonomous evasive manoeuvres in the face of hostile behaviour
  • Resilience against jamming, spoofing, and cyberattacks
  • Automatic collision prediction and avoidance
  • Constant surveillance and coordinated reaction between satellites
  • Reduced dependence on external trading systems
  • Real-time detection and analysis of non-cooperative objects
  • High-precision tracking of national and allied space assets
  • Automatic alerts when unauthorized objects enter areas of interest

With NeuraspaceDEF we are making space traffic management a genuine instrument of peacekeeping.
